The pace and frequency of ransomware attacks have risen over the past few years, with the number of UK ransomware attacks being reported to the ICO doubling year on year. It’s driven by high-profile ransomware incidents where details of extensive ransomware payments were publicised, for example, the attack on Colonial Pipeline in May 2021 where the organisation paid approximately $4.4 million in bitcoin to the attackers. This perceived 'profitability of ransomware attacks’ is attracting a growing number of new threat actors to the market and is encouraging existing threat actors to innovate new methods of infiltrating an organisation. During this webinar, Oscar Neill (Head of Cyber Security at Brightsolid) will share how building defence-in-depth to your security posture will help to rapidly detect and remediate against ransomware threats and incidents. You’ll also learn: - A typical cyber security stack and the cyber security landscape - The common TTPs leveraged by threat actors in ransomware attacks - Guidance on assessing your critical security infrastructure - The steps to building defence-in-depth and why it’s important Register your interest below. All registered attendees will receive a recording of the webinar.

Cybersecurity Academy offers free lectures in cyber security for students from around all of Sweden. The lectures are held by IT-experts who work with cyber security in a daily basis. The lectures provide students with knowledge and training in how to use the Internet safely and subjects such as phishing, cookies and password safety are covered. The lectures also encourage the students to reflect on cyber security issues from both a societal and individual perspective. Thursday 27th of October we organize such a lecture in a Highschool in Stockholm. If you are interested in a lecture in cyber security in your school, please contact us on cybersecurity@ungaforskare.se Cybersecurity Academy is a joint initiative by The Swedish Federation of Young Scientists (Unga Forskare) and IBM with financial support from The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB).
