IT Security Community Exchange Conference
October 13th, 2023 the IT Security Community Exchange Conference takes place in St. Poelten, Austria. The IT-SECX is a free-to-attend cybersecurity conference hosted by the department of computer science & security of University of Applied Sciences St. Poelten, and serves as a platform to exchange knowledge and information on trends, technologies and the latest developments in IT security. This year's motto is Cloud Security. More than 800 attendees are expected to visit the conference with 5 different theme tracks. Two tracks will also be available as live-streams remotely.

Round Table - Siguranta Online national awareness project PHISHING experiment at Bucharest Gaming Week
As part of European Cybersecurity Month 2023, #SigurantaOnline Romanian national cyber awareness project launched a phishing experiment, conducted by four prestigious Romanian gamers, on their social media accounts, within the player community in Romania. The experiment had 57 % success rate over the course of 24 hours. Nearly 5,000 followers clicked on a banner that promoted a secure gain, and 60 % of them were willing to provide more personal data. Most clicks were on the money gain (50 %), where it was mentioned that they had to provide the data on the card, and 26 % wanted a discount for a keyboard, 13 % for headphones and 11 % for a mouse. The round table with the press debated the results of the experiment and also discussed next possible steps at national level for enhancing digital and cybersecurity education in Romania.

Cybersecurity Fundamentals
During the project period, the Cyber Security Education NGO will carry out activities at the "Mihai Viteazul" National High School into romanian language to present information materials in the classroom on how students can safely use the internet, what are the main dangers they are exposed to in the digital environment and what they can do if they encounter one of these dangers. The presentation has a theoretical part consisting of an oral presentation, a practical part where students can see tools used by malicious people and a Q&A part.

Cyber security at SOS in Pultusk
October has been European Cyber Security Month for several years, with the aim of popularizing knowledge about cyber threats and promoting safe use of the Internet. This year's edition of European Cyber Security Month focuses on issues related to social engineering (social engineering), that is, the widely understood use by criminals of various manipulation techniques used in phishing campaigns targeting Internet users. Our institution also joined the pan-European campaign organized by the European Cyber Security Agency (ENISA) at the initiative of the European Commission, taking steps to promote cyber security. To this end, on October 12 classes were held for PSP and PSSPdP students to raise awareness of Internet security. During the classes, students watched educational films entitled "Be from another fairy tale - Little Red Riding Hood" and "Sicotechniques used by cybercriminals" prepared by the authors animations based on fairy tales and true stories better reach the imagination of children and young people, making them aware of the dangers we can encounter in the virtual world. Participants of the classes actively participated in the discussion of the most common social engineering in the virtual space. During the interactive exercises, students also solved quizzes and answered questions about conscious and responsible use of the network.

At CyberRescue, we are celebrating European Cyber Security Month throughout October. We are running an educational campaign on our social media channels, in which we bring the audience closer to the topic of cyber threats.
