Cyber Security Workshop
As part of European Cyber Security Month, the Chief Minister’s Department is hosting a cyber security workshop 09:00-11:00 at the Pomme D’Or Hotel.
The workshop will give an overview of the Government’s plans to implement the Cyber Security Strategy, provide an introduction to Cyber Essentials as a recommended minimum standard of cyber security and launch the States of Jersey’s approach to promoting information sharing.
The event is open to anyone who has an interest in cyber security from a business perspective.
Conference Programme
9:15 – 9:30 Introduction – Senator Paul Routier – Assistant Chief Minister
Senator Routier will give a brief overview of the Government’s plans to ensure Jersey is a safer place to do business.

9:30 to 10:10 Session One – Introduction to Cyber Essentials and the benefits of accreditation – Jamie Randall, IASME Consortium
Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed cyber security certification scheme and is the States of Jersey’s recommended minimum standard.
The scheme addresses five key controls that, when implemented correctly, can prevent around 80% of cyber-attacks.
Jamie will share his experiences of implementing Cyber Essentials with organisations to make them compliant, as well as outlining the benefits of certification.

10:20 to 11:00am Session Two – launch the States of Jersey’s approach to promoting cyber security information sharing – Speaker TBC
Sharing information and intelligence related to potential threats is essential to enable businesses to protect themselves from cyber crime.
The States of Jersey will announce its preferred approach to promoting cyber security information sharing in Jersey and provide a practical guide for those interested in participating.
