Surf Safety

International Children's Safety Service

n the course of the ‘Surf Safely!' lessons, we cover topics which play a significant part in our everyday life such as the protection of personal data, cyberbullying, netiquette, passwords, digital footprints, and so on. Our interactive lessons for children comprise short videos and small exercises, whereas parents and teachers are introduced to the topics in a more serious learning environment. We work with more than 50 trainers who are dedicated experts in these respective fields and have great experience in the field of safer internet. Many of them, as representatives of IT companies, work as volunteers in the project, resulting from the fact that many of the supporting firms are multinational companies where volunteering and social responsibility is highly emphasised.

International Children's Safety Service (NGYSZ) is one of the most important non-government welfare organisations in Hungary, established in 1990. It hosts several projects in order to provide financial, social and health-related support to children in need. Besides e.g. the foster-parents, helatchare and codification programme it also acts as coordinator of the Hungarian Safer Internet consortium in order to turn attention to safer and more conscious internet use.
