Cybersecurity Basics training

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the not-for-profit public-benefit corporation dedicated to keeping the Internet secure, stable and interoperable, through its coordination role of the Internet's unique identifier system, proposes a series of basic cybersecurity trainings for all users. Trainings will outline cybersecurity concepts, and describe vulnerabilities that may exist in the technologies we commonly use, with a specific focus on the Internet’s Domain Name System. Participants will learn about the importance of cybersecurity for end users as well as how to assess risks and protect information, they will learn about the most common examples of cyber threats (such as phishing, pharming, DDoS, and spam), and ways to mitigate risks. The training will also look into the role, development policies, and governance model of the unique identifiers technologies underpinning the global single internet and what are the current risks for fragmentation.
