STAR is a humanoid robot, who assist the SECUSO research group in the field of security awareness. STAR is the abbreviation for Security Teaching & Awareness Robot. STAR also reaches people who would otherwise barely or never concern themselves with the topic of phishing prevention. Phishing affects basically everyone these days, which is why it is important to also reach everyone. STAR is used at trade fairs (such as the Hanover Messe) or conferences to create interest and awareness for the topic of phishing. STAR presents e-mails to the user, who then has to decide whether they are phishing e-mails and how to recognize them. This is often not that easy.
